| Betta splendens are small freshwater fish that are also known as siamese fighting fish. They come from Thailand where they live in the shallow rice paddies. Due to the lack of oxygen in the water, the bettas have an organ called the Labyrinth. This organ allows them to take air form the surface of the water.
